2 weeks, 825 miles, 70 riders – LOADS of fun

Over the last fortnight, over 70 riders have joined the Andy Cook Cycling team on the beautiful island of Lanzarote for the annual Club La Santa Andy Cook Bike Week. Despite typical strong Lanzarote winds, the full ride programme was followed every day and all our clients had a great time! They tackled Tabyesco, fought their way to Femes (the steep way!) and made their way up to the iconic Mirador del Rio. The Wednesday of each week saw the long day of the camp (160km) – as the riders completed the majority of the famous Lanzarote Iron Man route.

Here’s what some of the clients had to say about their week on the camp:

“It’s been an absolutely fantastic experience cycling with you this week Andy, I’ve met a great group of people and special thanks to you and Jacqui for your patience and encouragement when I was training at the back up the hills. I hope to make it back again next year.”

“I just wanted to say a huge thanks for a great weeks riding in Lanzarote last week. I had a great time, challenged myself sufficiently for this time in the year, met some fantastic people and thoroughly enjoyed riding with you both. Please could you also pass my thanks on to Iain and Mark who both were great guides for the week.”

“Another great week Andy many thanks!”

“It’s been great I love it. First few weeks in January – cycling, a few funny classes, great socials and great food!”

Andy and Jacqui would like to thank everyone who attended the camp for the awesome team work displayed by everyone. This year’s trip was particularly special, as everyone really embraced the safe, fun and co-operative ethos of Andy Cook Cycling camps. What was particularly great to see was stronger riders looking out for riders who were feeling tired that day, and everyone taking care of each other on the road.

We’ll be back on the island next January, but for now, if you like the look of cycling in the sunshine, then why not join us on one of our other bike camps? Click here for more information.
