Rain doesn’t stop play at Castle Combe Tuesdays

April always means the start of our very popular Tuesday Night Cycling Sessions at the historic Castle Combe Circuit. April, of course, also means the start of April showers… but the wet and windy weather hasn’t deterred many people from joining us at the circuit over the last few weeks – in fact, we’ve had 1000 people sign up already for this year’s sessions and over half of those have already taken part!

It’s been wonderful to see the circuit filled with families, training cyclists, triathletes, children on their first bikes, hand-cyclists and everything in between!

A highlight of this year so far has been Sean the coffee man. Sean brings his van up to the circuit every Tuesday Night to serve proper coffee, tea, cold drinks and snacks. The hot coffee has proved particularly popular when it has been somewhat chilly, and we’re sure when the hot weather finally arrives (and actually happens on a Tuesday night!) ice cold cokes will be much appreciated by our riders!

Don’t forget, professional cycling photographer Rich Lewton of Rich Lewton Photography joins us each Tuesday night to take snaps of cyclists enjoying their time on the circuit. Photos of families, children and friends cycling and having fun can make great presents and keepsakes – so why not head on over to Rich’s website to see if he’s got any particularly good shots of you?

It’s really easy to register for Castle Combe Tuesday Night Cycling, and only costs £2 per adult and £1 per child for the whole year. Simply click here and follow the instructions.

Once you have registered, you will find a membership card in your account. You can either print this membership card off (some people laminate theirs for back-pocket protection!) or save it on your phone as a pdf. It’s best to save it to somewhere you can find it easily on your phone – i.e. not photos, as you may not find it easy to find again once you’ve taken more pictures! Saving it in notes is often a better idea.

When you have your membership card, simply turn up from 5.30pm on Tuesday nights, pay the entry fee (£3 for adults, £1 for children) and ride until 8pm.

On very rare occasions, we have to cancel a session due to unforeseen circumstances. We will keep you informed via email in plenty of time if this happens.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Castle Combe in 2018!
